TNT Renews ‘Dallas’ For Season 3

TNT has renewed Dallas for a third season fo 15 episodes, slated to air in 2014. Despite the death of Larry Hagman and a dip in ratings compared to the show’s first season, the pickup had been expected. There is still no word on the fates of TNT’s bubble shows Monday Mornings or Southland.

Channel 5 Acquires UK Rights To Australian Drama Series ‘Wentworth’

Channel 5 has closed a deal with FremantleMedia International to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Australian drama series Wentworth. The acquisition follows on from Channel 5’s recent deals to acquire A&E’s mini-series Coma, History’s mini-series The Bible and RTE’s drama series Love/Hate. Wentworth is set to premiere on Channel 5 later this year.

BBC Three Renews ‘Him & Her’ For Final Season, Announces New Comedy Commissions

BBC Three has announced a raft of comedy commissions and re-commissions including a new comedy series starring Nick Helm titled Uncle and a full series of People Just Do Nothing, which was initially piloted on BBC iPlayer last year. Also included in today’s announcement is 8 new pilots for the iPlayer, a fourth season of Him & Her and (as TVWise reported last week) a third season of comedy series Pramface.
