Howard Gordon’s ‘Legends’ Picked Up To Series At TNT
Just 24 hours after greenlighting a 10 episode first season for their Michael Bay produced drama project The Last Ship, TNT is adding another original scripted series to its line-up for 2014. The network has picked up its drama pilot Legends to series with a 10 episode order. Like The Last Ship, the series is slated to air next Summer. While there is still no official word from TNT, it now seems unlikely that either Monday Mornings or Southland will be returning for new seasons.

Syfy is adding a familiar face to its original series Haven. Eureka star Colin Ferguson has joined the cast of the drama series for its 13 episode fourth season, which just entered production in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ferguson has been cast as William, a handsome mysterious stranger, whose secret agenda leads him to Audrey.
Tamzin Outhwaite (EastEnders) has joined the cast of BBC One’s New Tricks for its upcoming tenth season. Outhwaite has been cast as DCI Sacha Millard, the new CO of UCOS who will need to use all her policing experience to manage her team of unconventional ex-coppers reinvestigating the Met’s unsolved crime. Outhwaite will appear in the final two episodes of season ten, following the departure of Amanda Redman.
ITV is returning to the 50s. The commercial broadcaster has renewed its period crime drama series The Bletchley Circle for a second season of 4 episodes.
EXCLUSIVE: BBC One’s newest drama series By Any Means, which just recently entered production, is adding two guest stars to its 6 episode first season. I’ve learned that both Josef Altin (Game of Thrones) and Bessie Cursons (Doctors) have landed roles on the series. Created by a writing team comprised of Tony Jordan, Richard Zajdlic, James Payne, Jeff Povey and Richard Lazarus, By Any Means has been described as a “gritty police drama” which follows police officer Jack Quinn who runs a clandestine police department that, when the legal system fails, go to any lengths to bring the criminal elite to justice. Quinn’s shadowy and brilliant team will go about their business, exploiting weaknesses, weaving a web of cunning and deception that leads the unwary target into the arms of justice. The series is produced by Red Planet Pictures and stars Warren Brown, Elliot Knight, Shelley Conn, Gina McKee and Andrew Lee Potts.

FX’s The Americans is adding two cast members to its roster of series regulars for its 13 episode second season, which is set enter production this fall and air in early 2014. Guest stars Annet Mahendru & Alison Wright have been upped to regulars for the second season and join Susan Misner, who was previously promoted to regular status.
