EXCLUSIVE: ITV’s period drama series Mr Selfridge is adding two new cast members for its second season. I’ve learned that both Daniel Kendrick (Run) and Vincenzo Nicoli (EastEnders) have joined the series in recurring roles. They join Polly Walker (Warehouse 13), Aidan McArdle (Garrow’s Law) and Cal Macaninch (Donwnton Abbey), all three of whom recently joined the series for its 10 episode second season. Mr Selfridge is set in London in 1909, at a time when women were revelling in a new sense of freedom and modernity. Harry wanted to indulge, empower and celebrate these women and so opened the doors of his lavish department store, on London’s famous Oxford Street. The drama series stars Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Katherine Kelly (Coronation Street), Frances O’Connor (Piccadily Jim), Gregory Fitoussi (Spiral), Aisling Loftus (The Borrowers), Trystan Gravelle (Anonymous) and Zoe Tapper (Desperate Romantics). Mr Selfridge is produced by ITV Studios and PBS Masterpiece, with Rebecca Eaton, Chrissy Skins and Kate Lewis serving as executive producers. The series was renewed by ITV in February after the first season pulled in a peak audience of 9.4 million viewers and averaged a consolidated audience of 8.5 million viewers.

And we’re off. NBC has just started notifying both pilots and series which aren’t making it to the 2013-2014 season. The first of the networks remaining bubble series to be cancelled is soap Deception.
TNT has released a trailer for its newest drama series Legends, which was just picked up for Summer 2014 with a 10 episode order.
EXCLUSIVE:
BBC One’s fantasy series Atlantis has added a further two guest stars for its 13 episode first season. Both Aiysha Hart (The Pursuit) and Karl Johnson have landed roles on the series. Hart has been cast as Ariadne, while Johnson has been cast as Itheus. Created by Howard Overman (Misfits), Atlantis is set in the city of Atlantis: a mysterious ancient place; a world of bull leaping, of snake haired goddesses and of palaces so vast it was said they were built by giants. It’s into this strange, compelling realm that the young Jason arrives and an amazing adventure begins, bringing to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends. The series is being produced by Little Monster Films & BBC Cymru Wales and stars Mark Addy (Game of Thrones), Juliet Stevenson (White Heat), Sarah Parish (Mistresses), Jemima Rooper (Lost In Austen), Aiysha Hart (Honour), Jack Donnelly (Dancing On The Edge) and Robert Emms (War Horse). Justin Molotnikov (Merlin) and Alice Troughton (Merlin) are directing.
