Upfronts 2013: The CW Announces Fall Schedule; ‘Nikita’ Final Season Confirmed, ‘Beauty And The Beast’ & ‘Hart Of Dixie’ On The Move

The CW is the last of the five broadcast networks to announce their fall 2013-2014 schedule. There is a fair amount of movement this year, with Hart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast, The Carrie Diaries and Supernatural moving to new time-slots. Of the network’s five new drama series, only 3 will premiere this fall, while the remaining two will air mid-season, as will the fourth and final season of Nikita (which the network has now confirmed will comprise of merely 6 episodes).

ReelzChannel To Air “Lost Season” Of ‘Steven Seagal: Lawman’

The third season of A&E’s docu series Steven Seagal: Lawman will finally see the light of day. ReelzChannel has announced that they have acquired all three seasons of the series and will air the never-before-seen 8 episode third season in early 2014. BSkyB’s Pick TV has closed a deal with Passion Distribution to acquire the free-to-air rights to When Vacations Attack, a one-hour documentary series which airs on the Travel Channel in the United States. BSkyB’s deal with Passion covers the show’s first two seasons and comes on the back of Passion Distribution selling the series to various countries across EMEA.

BBC Two Orders Cold War Spy Drama ‘Legacy’ From Indie Slim Film + Television

Simon Crawford Collins’ independent production company Slim Film + Television, which was set up in November 2011 to produce high-end drama, scripted comedy and major international co-productions, has won its first commission. BBC Two has ordered a 90 minute one-off film titled Legacy, a gripping espionage thriller set during the height of the Cold War in 1970s London which will be produced by the indie. The drama will form part of BBC Two’s season of programmes exploring the history of the Cold War.
