EXCLUSIVE: Here is an actor who is certainly in demand for TV comedies. I’ve learned that Marcus Garvey, whose previous credits include White Van Man and Broadchurch, has joined the cast of Gold’s upcoming six episode comedy series Us And Them.
EXCLUSIVE: BBC One and BBC Cymru Wales have found the first cast member for their upcoming cold war drama series The Game. I’ve learned that Victoria Hamilton has been cast as a series regular in the six episode skein. Hamilton is an accomplished actress whose previous credits include Jericho, Trial & Retribution and Lark Rise To Candleford. More recently, she had a major role on the BBC One drama serial What Remains, which is set to air later this year.
EXCLUSIVE: It was back in December 2012 that TVWise broke the news that UKTV’s Dave channel had given the green-light to a half-hour comedy pilot titled Undercover. Since then things have been largely quiet, but I now hear that the pilot, which hailed from Bonafide Films, Baby Cow Productions and a writing team consisting of Sacha Alexander, Simon Dean and Andy Milligan, wrapped principal photography several months ago and is set to air on Dave later this year.
EXCLUSIVE: BBC Two and Slim Film & Television have found another cast member for their upcoming 90 minute spy drama Legacy. I’ve just learned that Tessa Peake-Jones has joined the cast of the drama and while exact character details are being kept under wraps, sources tell me that is a “major role.” Tessa Peake-Jones, repped by Independent Talent, is best known for her starring role on Only Fools And Horses and has more recently starred in ITV’s Marchlands and BBC One’s Holby City.
Cinemax has released a trailer for the upcoming season of action series Strike Back, which is slated to premiere on Friday August 9th at 10/9c.
EXCLUSIVE: Daisy Beaumont has been cast in Gold’s upcoming six episode comedy series Us and Them. Beaumont’s previous credits include EastEnders, The Job Lot and Great Night Out. Exact character details are being kept under wraps, but sources tell me that she is a series regular and will appear in all six episodes. I’m told that production on Us and Them, which has the distinction of being Gold’s first original scripted comedy series, is slated to commence next month.
The first season of AMC’s drama series Low Winter Sun will receive its UK premiere on FOX on Friday August 16th at 10pm, it has been announced.
EXCLUSIVE: BBC Two and Slim Film & Television have found the lead actor for their upcoming 90 minute drama Legacy. My sources are telling me that Charlie Cox has been cast in the drama as Charles Thoroughgood, a former military officer turned recent MI6 recruit. Cox, repped by United Agents, has appeared in numerous high profile dramas including HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and more recently he had a leading role in the CBS drama pilot The Ordained, which was passed on by network just ahead of the upfronts this past May.
