Andrew Scott, Simon Russell Beale & Olivia Grant Join BBC Two’s Spy Drama ‘Legacy’
Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Simon Russell Beale (The Hollow Crown) and Olivia Grant (Strike Back) have joined the cast of BBC Two’s upcoming 90 minute cold war spy drama Legacy.

A+E Networks UK has announced that they will be launching the female-skewing network Lifetime in the UK later this year. A specific launch date has yet to be set and while the pay TV channel will be carried on Sky and Virgin Media, EPG slots have yet to be determined. The launch comes as competition for female audiences in pay TV is becoming more fierce, following the launch of TLC back in April, which directly competes with BSkyB’s Sky Living.
UKTV has closed a deal with Banijay International to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Australian reality series RBT for its Watch channel. The deal is for all four seasons of the series, which airs on Nine Network in Australia.
Channel 4’s four-part drama Run will premiere on Monday July 15th at 10pm, and then air daily in the same time-slot, it has been announced.
The 8 episode first season of Family Tree, which is a co-production with US premium cable network HBO, will premiere on BBC Two on Tuesday July 16th at 10pm, it has been announced.
Sky Atlantic has released a trailer for the upcoming second season of NBC’s drama series Smash, which is set to premiere on Thursday July 18th at 9pm.
EXCLUSIVE: The norse gods are returning to the UK. I’ve confirmed that Syfy UK has closed a deal with ALL3MEDIA International to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the third season of TV3’s series The Almighty Johnsons. Sources tell me that Syfy UK plans to air the third season close to the series’ debut in New Zealand (scheduled for July 4th) and, while nothing is set in stone, they are eyeing an August premiere.
