Acquisitions Buzz: ‘The Bridge’, ‘Helix’ & ‘Ironside’

EXCLUSIVE: The past couple of weeks have been fairly heavy on the acquisitions front. There are deals underway for the UK rights to ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., CBS’The Millers and We Are Men and NBC’s The Blacklist (and numerous others); Sky Living acquired the rights to the short-lived Fox series The Mob Doctor; Syfy UK acquired Sharknado and the third season of The Almighty JohnsonsWatch acquired Canadian series Saving Hope; A+E Network UK announced the launch of Lifetime and acquired Damages, The Client List and a number of Lifetime TV movies; and Comedy Central UK passed on acquiring the final seasons of 30 Rock and The Office. ‘Glee’ Star Cory Monteith Dead At 31

Cory Monteith, who has played Finn Hudson on the Fox series Glee since it premiered in 2009, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on Saturday. He was 31. Vancouver police are investigating the death buy say that, while the cause of death was not immediately apparent, no foul play is suspected.

Syfy UK Picks Up ‘Sharknado’, Sets September Premiere

EXCLUSIVE: Sharknado created quite the media and twitter storm in the United States when the TV movie aired on Syfy this past week and now Syfy UK are getting in on the action. A source at the channel informs me that they have acquired the UK rights to this TV movie, with plans to air it in September.
