Channel 4 has closed a deal with Zodiak Rights to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the second season of the French drama series The Returned (aka Les Revenants). The show’s second season, which was recently commissioned by Canal+, consists of 8 episodes and will air in late 2014.
The second season of TNT’s drama series Perception will receive its UK premiere on Watch on Tuesday September 3rd at 10pm, it has been announced.
In a similar move to the one they employed for the recent third season of fellow AMC drama The Killing, Netflix UK & Ireland has announced that the final 8 episodes of Breaking Bad will premiere on the streaming service on Monday August 12th. New episodes will then continue to be made available on Mondays on a weekly basis, airing in the UK only one day after their global premiere on AMC in the United States.
Syfy has handed a 90 minute pilot order to Dominion, a potential scripted series based on the 2010 feature film Legion, TVWise has confirmed.
Cinemax is adding another drama series to its growing slate of original series. The network has announced that they have given a 10 episode straight-to-series order to The Knick, a period drama set in 1900s New York. The series will feature Clive Owen (Behind The Candelabra) in one of the lead roles, with veteran director Steven Soderbergh attached to direct all 10 episodes.
FOX has confirmed that, as part of an existing life-of-series deal, they have picked up the UK rights to the fourth and final season of the HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down, with plans to air said season within days of its US premiere (currently set for September 29th).
