BBC Two Orders Musical Drama ‘Tubby & Enid’ From Victoria Wood & Endor Productions

Fresh off of ordering Twenty Twelve spin-off W1A, BBC Two has handed out a commission to a new single musical drama titled Tubby & Enid from Victoria Wood and The Escape Artist‘s producers Endor Productions. Bafta award-winner Imelda Staunton (Shakespeare in Love) and Olivier-Award winner Michael Ball (Hairspray, Sweeney Todd) have been cast as the leads. Production on the drama is set to commence on January 6th on location in Manchester, with BBC Two eyeing a 2014 premiere.

First Images: David Costabile In ‘Ripper Street’ Finale

The first images (see below) of Hollywood actor David Costabile’s (Low Winter Sun, Suits) upcoming appearance on BBC One’s period drama series Ripper Street have been released. Costabile co-stars in the two-part series finale (scheduled to air on Monday December 9th and Monday December 16th) as Daniel Judge, Captain Homer Jackson’s brother.

BBC Two Orders ‘Twenty Twelve’ Follow-Up ‘W1A’

BBC Two has given the green-light to W1A, a 4 episode series which is being hailed as the follow-up to the BBC’s multi-BAFTA-winning comedy series Twenty Twelve. Despite that, the BBC are keen to stress that W1A is not a direct sequel but “shares the same DNA” and will follow the exploits of Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville) and PR guru Siobhan Sharpe (Jessica Hynes).
