The Red Devils seem destined for a bottom-half finish for the first time since the 1989-90 season, when they at least had the consolation of lifting the FA Cup.

Ruben Amorim side fought back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw at Everton on Saturday, but they will be eager to secure a much-needed win against Ipswich, who appear on course for an immediate return to the Championship.

Despite being the best-performing of the newly promoted teams, Ipswich suffered a heavy 4-1 home defeat to Tottenham at the weekend and remain five points adrift of safety in the relegation zone.

The Red Devils have endured a torrid time at Old Trafford this season, losing more home games than they have won in the Premier League.

Their recent form on home soil is particularly concerning, with just one victory in their last six league outings and five defeats in that run.

Ipswich have also hit a rough patch, suffering five losses in their last six matches, making them difficult to back in this one.

A more appealing bet could be both teams to score, which has landed in nine of Ipswich’s last 11 away games.
