The Reds have simply been a class apart in recent months and with Manchester City and Arsenal stalling in their title ambitions, a clear path to the title has emerged for the Merseysiders.

It would take a collapse of similar proportions for Jurgen Klopp’s side to let their current lead slip, having moved 11 points clear of nearest challengers Arsenal over the weekend.

The Toon haven’t won a league game at Anfield since April 1994, and if they produce a performance like their second half display in Sunday’s 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest, they are unlikely to break that streak.

Eddie Howe’s side were all over the place defensively, although Alexander Isak remains a constant threat to any back four in England’s top tier.

With 29 points from a possible 36 at home, Liverpool’s dominance at Anfield has been a driving force behind their title charge and I expect them to maintain that momentum here.
