Ellen Barkin & Scott Speedman To Star In TNT Drama Pilot ‘Animal Kingdom’
TNT has cast the first two leads for Animal Kindom. The New Normal & Happyish star Ellen Barkin and Last Resort's Scott Speedman have been tapped for major roles in the hour-long drama pilot from John Wells Productions and Warner Horizon Television which is based on the 2010 feature film of the same name. 
MTV has renewed Scream - the scripted drama series based on the feature film franchise - for a second season, the network announced on Wednesday during their executive panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. 
Syfy is bringing the grindhouse genre to television. The NBCU owned cable network has given the green-light to Blood Drive, which is described as "a high-octane over-the-top scripted series in the classic grindhouse movie tradition". 13 episodes have been ordered for the show's first season. 

Hollywood's obsession with comic books continues... USA Network has handed out a pilot order to Brooklyn Animal Control, an adaptation of the comic book of the same name by JT Petty and IDW Publishing. Brooklyn Animal Control follows the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social services for the city’s werewolves.
Diane Keaton (The Godfather) has signed on to co-star opposite Jude Law in the Young Pope, the eight episode miniseries from creator Paul Sorrentino which is a co-production between Sky, HBO and French broadcaster Canal+. Keaton will play Sister Mary, a nun from the U.S. now living in Vatican City.
