James Cromwell Joins HBO/Sky/Canal+ Co-Pro ‘The Young Pope’

Sky, HBO and Canal+ are adding to the cast of their co-production The Young Pope. Award winning actor James Cromwell has been tapped for a starring role in the eight episode miniseries, which hails from creator Paul Sorrentino and is being toplined by Jude Law. Cromwell will play Cardinal Michael Spencer, the new Pope's mentor.

Starz Renews ‘Black Sails’ For Fourth Season, Adds Cuban Detective Drama To Development Slate & More

Starz has renewed their hit pirate drama Black Sails for a fourth season, the network announced during their executive panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. The network also announced that they are developing a drama series about a Cuban Detective starring Antonia Banderas, and that they would be making all episodes of ballet drama Flesh & Bone and the final season of Da Vinci's Demons available for binge-viewing via their on-demand platforms following the linear broadcast premieres this Fall.

Rhys Ifans Joins Epix’s Spy Drama ‘Berlin Station’

Rhys IfansElementary and Harry Potter alum Rhys Ifans has signed on for a co-starring role opposite Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under) in Berlin Station, the 10 episode contemporary espionage crime drama from Paramount TV which is set up at premium streaming service Epix. Rhys Ifans will play Case Officer Hector DeJean, who is described as a darkly charming, tenacious agent. He jois Richard Jenkins who was previously cast to play Steven Frost, a veteran of the Cold War who serves as the CIA’s Chief of Station in Berlin.

Girlfriends Guide To DivorceBravo's first original scripted drama series is coming to the UK. Lifetime UK has acquired the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce after striking a deal with international distributor NBCUniversal International Television Distribution, TVWise has learned. The show's 13 episode first season will premiere on Lifetime UK on Tuesday September 15th at 9pm.
