Rachel DiPillo & Torrey DeVitto Join NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’ As Series Regulars
Rachel DiPillo (Jane The Virgin) and Torrey DeVitto (The Vampire Diaries) have joined the cast of NBC's latest Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago Med as series regulars, TVWise has learned. DiPillo, who has also enjoyed stints on such shows as NCIS, Mad Men and Emily Owens, M.D., will play Dr. Sarah Reese, an emergency room intern who’s fresh out of medical school. While DeVitto has been cast as Dr. Lilly Manning, a pregnant ER physician. Her previous television credits include Pretty Little Liars, Army Wives, One Tree Hill and Beautiful People. 
Well that didn't take long. A little over a week after the project was taken out to the networks, Warner Bros. Television's Training Day TV project has landed a CBS with a hefty pilot production commitment. 
NBC is adding to their comedy pilot slate with two projects from emerging writers who were discovered as a result of the NBC Playground comedy initiative, which aims "to open the door for new creative voices by discovering and nurturing fresh cutting-edge comedy talent". 
Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming ten episode fourth season of Wyoming set cop drama Longmire, which is set to premiere on the streaming service in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia on Thursday September 10th. 
Sesame Street is on the move. The iconic kids series is set to move to HBO after the premium cable network struck a deal with production company Sesame Workshop. Under the deal, HBO will get an "exclusive window" on new episodes for the next five seasons, before they are subsequently broadcast on PBS and member stations some nine months later. 
NBC's Chicago Med is losing one of its main cast members. Laurie Holden, whose long list of credits include The Walking Dead and Major Crimes, is exiting the Chicago Fire spin-off due to "family reasons". Her departure comes several months before the series is set to debut this November. She was one of the few members of the main cast who appeared in the back-door pilot, which aired as an episode of Chicago Fire's third season. 
Sense8 star Alfonso Herrera has been set as the male lead in Fox's hour-long drama pilot Urban Cowboy, a reboot of the 1980s John Travolta feature film of the same name which hails from Paramount Television, 20th Century Fox Television and Craig Brewer.
