BBC One Orders Steve McQueen Drama, Picks Up Tony Jordan’s Motown Series & More
BBC One has given the greenlight to a new six-part drama series from noted scribe Steve McQueen which opens in 1968 at the moment of Enoch Powell's notorious River of Blood speech. The BBC's flagship channel has also picked up Tony Jordan's Motown series and commissioned a one-off adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream from Doctor Who's Russell T. Davies. 
In what is his first series regular role since the short-lived CBS legal dramedy The Defenders, Jim Belushi has joined the cast of Fox's hour-long drama pilot Urban Cowboy, which is based on the John Travolta fronted 1980s feature film of the same name. He will play Marshall, a spirited long haul truck driver turned honky tonk bar owner, who is as much of a Houston institution as is his bar Gilley’s.

CBS has found the new lead for Doubt. State Of Affairs alum Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in the hour-long drama pilot, which is being re-worked and re-shot after it was produced last development cycle and came very close to scoring a series order. Heigl replaces KaDee Strickland, who was the lead in the first pilot.

ABC is once again moving forward with a Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off. After initially developing the project last season, the network has handed out an official pilot order to Marvel's Most Wanted, an hour-long drama series that will revolve around Bobbi Morse (AKA Mockingbird) and Lance Hunter. Both Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, who played the two characters on S.H.I.E.L.D., are on-board to reprise their roles on the proposed spin-off.
TNT is expanding the fourth season of Major Crimes. The network has handed out a five episode back order to the Mary McDonnell fronted procedural, bringing the total number of episodes ordered for the show's fourth season to twenty-three.
