History Boss Dirk Hoogstra Exits, Jana Bennett Named President & General Manager
Another executive shake-up is underway at A+E Networks. Dirk Hoogstra, who has been serving as the General Manager of History and H2 since 2013, is exiting his post effective immediately and will be replaced by current FYI and LMN President Jana Bennett, who has been named President and General Manager of History. 
Ovation is stocking up on factual content. The arts focused cable network has acquired a raft of factual programmes after striking a deal with London based international distributor TVF International, TVWise has learned. 
Taken is heading to TV. NBC had handed out a straight-to-series order to an hour-long drama based on Luc Besson's feature film series of the same name starring Liam Neeson. The TV series is being described as a prequel rather than a reboot and will be set several years before the events of the first film.
Fox has handed out pilot production commitment to Front Man, a single-camera comedy from Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek, Elizabeth Banks and Warner Bros. Television.
Gaumont International Television - the production company behind Hannibal and Hemlock Grove - is developing Viva La Madness, an hour-long TV series based on J.J. Connolly novel of the same name which has Transporter alum Jason Statham attached to star.
Craig Ferguson is returning to television. History has given the green-light to Join Or Die With Craig Ferguson, a new talk show format fronted by former host of The Late Late Show, TVWise has learned. The network has ordered sixteen episodes for the show's freshman run, which is set to premiere in 2016.
