FX’s ‘The Bastard Executioner’ Cancelled After One Season
Series creator Kurt Sutter and FX are closing the book on The Bastard Executioner. The period drama, which was shot on location in Wales, has been cancelled after one ten episode season, TVWise has confirmed. HBO Inks New Overall Deal With Nic Pizzolatto, No Word Yet On ‘True Detective’ Renewal
HBO is staying in business with Nic Pizzolatto. The premium cable network has inked a new overall deal with the True Detective creator which will keep him based at HBO through to at least 2018. This marks the third such overall deal they have agreed with Pizzolatto, after signing similar such deals with the writer/producer in 2012 (to land True Detective in the first place) and then again in 2014, ahead of the season two renewal. TNT has handed out a third season renewal to serialised crime drama Murder In The First, TVWise has learned. The network did not specify the size of the order for season three, but TVWise understands it is for ten episodes, down slightly from the twelve episodes ordered for season two.
