EXCLUSIVE: HBO Eyes J.K. Rowling’s New BBC Series ‘The Cormoran Strike Mysteries’
EXCLUSIVE: HBO is set to re-team with the BBC for a new J.K. Rowling drama. Sources tell TVWise that the premium cable network is circling BBC One's The Cormoran Strike Mysteries, based on the Harry Potter author's Cormoran Strike novel series (published under the pen name Robert Galbraith), with plans to board as a co-producer. 
TNT is far from done with Captain Sharon Raydor and the detectives of the Major Crimes Division. The Turner owned cable network has renewed their hit series Major Crimes for a fifth season, to air in 2016. While a final episode order has not been set, sources tell TVWise that the initial order is for 15 episodes.
Sonia Braga (Royal Pains) has been tapped for a series regular role in Netflix's upcoming Marvel series Luke Cage, TVWise has learned. Braga, who most recently had a starring role in the NBC pilot The Curse Of The Fuentes Women which did not go to series, will play Soledad Temple, Claire Temple's (Rosario Dawson) mother.
National Geographic is expanding their Killing franchise from Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly and Scott Free Productions. The network has given the green-light to Killing Patton, a four-hour TV miniseries based on the book by O'Reilly which was first published in 2014.
