Channel 4’s ‘Humans’ Cancelled After Three Seasons
There will be no fourth season for Humans. The Channel 4/AMC co-production has been cancelled after three seasons, TVWise has confirmed. The news comes close to a year after the third season wrapped its run. “Humans will not be returning for another series. The show has had three successful series and has been much loved by fans", a representative of Channel 4 said in a statement. "We are incredibly proud of Humans and the hugely talented creative team, in front of and behind the camera.” 
Guy Pearce (Mary Queen of Scots) has been set as the lead in BBC One's Charles Dickens adaptation A Christmas Carol. The three-part adaptation, which hails from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, was originally commissioned back in 2017 as one of a number of Dickens adaptions from Knight. FX has since boarded as the US partner and will are A Christmas Carol state-side.
ABC has renewed their hit comedy series Black-ish for a sixth season. Additionally, the network has handed out an early series order to Mixed-ish, a spin-off series about Rainbow Johnson’s experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ‘80s. This marks the second spin-off for Black-ish following Freeform's Grown-ish.
The Gilded Age is on the move. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes' long-gestating period drama has landed at HBO with a ten episode series order, the premium cable network announced on Thursday. The project had been in the works at NBC since as far back as 2012 and ultimately earned a series order in early 2018 at the peacock, which was then under the reins of Bob Greenblatt. Notably, the show's move to HBO mirrors Greenblatt's recent move from NBC to HBO parent WarnerMedia.
YouTube Premium has handed out a third season renewal to their The Karate Kid follow-up series Cobra Kai. The renewal comes a little over a week after the second season was released. Season three is expected to premiere in 2020. Cobra Kai picks up thirty years after The Karate Kid and follows a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence as he seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso, who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi.
StarzPlay has released the trailer and key art for the second season of Vida, which is set to premiere on Thursday May 23rd. In the show’s expanded ten episode second season, Lyn and Emma begin the monumental task of rebuilding their mother’s business while navigating financial constraints, competing developers, and the growing anti-gentrification movement.
