Continuing the recent trend of iconic shows making a comeback, either by way of a reboot or revival, 20th Century Fox Television is actively developing a reboot of their hit 1980s legal drama L.A. Law, from original series co-creator Steven Bochco, TVWise has confirmed. 
ABC and Marvel have found the next Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Jason O'Mara has been tapped for a major role in the show's upcoming fourth season, succeeding Coulson (Clark Gregg) as the head of the embattled agency. Specifics are being kept under wraps, but Marvel said that O'Mara's is "playing a character whose Marvel roots go back to the 1940s". 
Starz is extending their relationship with 50 Cent. The premium cable network has extended their overall deal with Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson and, under this new pact, have put into development Tomorrow, Today, a super-hero drama based on an original script by the Power star and executive producer. 
TBS is expanding their slate of original comedies by handing out series orders to The Guest Book, a half hour comedy from The Millers and My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia, and Carson Mell's animated project Tarantula, TVWise has learned. The network has also picked up half-hour comedy project World's End, from Blunt Talk creator Jonathan Ames, to pilot. 
TNT has picked up their Sunday night genre drama The Last Ship for a fourth season, it was announced last night by network topper Kevin Reilly during the Turner executive panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. 13 episodes have been ordered for the show's fourth season, which is eyed for a 2017 premiere. 
TruTV is continuing their push into scripted comedy. The network has handed out an eight episode series order to anthology comedy series Bobcat Goldthwait's Messed Up Stories. The announcement will be made later today at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour.
