Syfy has put an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s novel Brave New World - from Universal Cable Productions, Grant Morrison and Brian Taylor - into development, TVWise has learned. Additionally, under this development deal, Syfy and Universal Cable Productions are also developing of Morrison's graphic novel Happy! 
Hill Harper (CSI: NY, Covert Affairs) and Patrick Sabongui (The Flash, The Art Of More) have been tapped for major recurring roles on the sixth season of Showtime's CIA drama Homeland, TVWise has learned. Harper will play the incoming president's chief of staff, while Sanongui is set as a CUNY law professor and advocate for the Muslim-American community. 
There has been some on-set drama on Criminal Minds. Thomas Gibson has been suspended from the long-running CBS procedural after an "on-set alteration" with one of the producers.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Barry Jenner has passed away at the age of 75, his family announced today. Jenner died on August 9th and is survived by his wife Suzanne Hunt. Jenner was a veteran character actor, but is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Vice Admiral Ross on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, frequently starring opposite series lead Avery Brooks. 
CBS has picked up James Patterson adaptation Zoo for a thirteen episode third season, but has yet to make a decision on the fates of fellow summer series American Gothic and BrainDead. 
Aisha Tyler has been promoted to series regular on the upcoming twelfth season of Criminal Minds, it was announced today by CBS President Glenn Geller during the network's executive panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour.
