Showtime has released the trailer and key art for the fifth and final season of The Affair, which is set to premiere on the premium cable network on Sunday August 25th. Sky Atlantic yet to announce the UK premiere date. 
Arienne Mandi (Baja), Leo Sheng (Adam), Jacqueline Toboni (Easy) and Rosanny Zayas (Orange is the New Black) have joined the cast of Showtime's The L Word sequel series The L Word: Generation Q as series regulars. 
Reel One Entertainment has hired former Hallmark and Lifetime executive Barbara Fisher to serve as their Executive Vice-President of Scripted Content. “I’m thrilled to be working with Tom Berry and the talented team at Reel One Entertainment”, Fisher said in a statement. “It is an exciting and busy time for the company as we grow our television production slate.” 
Channel 4 has set the cast for The Light. Joanna Scanlan (Getting On), Sidse Babett Knudsen (Westworld), Mark Lewis Jones (Keeping Faith), Genevieve Barr (Press) are set to star opposite Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) in the four-part drama from Jack Thorne. Showtime has released a teaser trailer for the fifth and final season of The Affair, which is set to premiere on Sunday August 25th at 9/8c. 
David Tennant (Doctor Who), Hayley Atwell (Marvel's Agent Carter) and Lee Ingleby (Inspector George Gently) are set to star in Criminal, Netflix's twelve episode police procedural from George Kay and Jim Field Smith. The series is set to premiere later this year. 
BBC One has set The Pale Horse as their next Agatha Christie adaptation. It follows in the footsteps of previous adaptations And Then There Were None, The Witness For The Prosecution, Ordeal By Innocence and The ABC Murders. 
Acorn Media Enterprises - the UK based development division of U.S. streaming service Acorn TV - has teamed up with Irish broadcaster RTÉ to commission Dead Still, a six episode period drama from Deadpan Pictures, Murdoch Mysteries indie Shaftesbury and ZDF Enterprises.
