CBS Cancels Summer Series ‘American Gothic’ & ‘BrainDead’
Its' the end of the road for two of CBS' summer dramas. The network has pulled the plug on American Gothic and BrainDead after both aired only one thirteen episode season, TVWise has confirmed. The third of CBS' summer scripted dramas, Zoo, has previously been renewed for 2017. 
CBS is expanding the runs of three of their freshman shows. The network has granted full season orders to dramas Bull and MacGyver and half-hour comedy series Kevin Can Wait, TVWise has learned. With these back nine orders, all three series' first seasons will now consist of twenty-two episodes.
Hulu has renewed comedy series Difficult People for a third season, the streaming service announced on Monday. Ten episodes have been ordered for the show's third season, which is set to premiere in 2017.
NBCUniversal International Studios is adding to their executive ranks with the hire of Kudos executive Tariq Mirza. In his new role as Vice President, Head of UK Scripted; Commercial, Legal & Business Affairs, Mirza will concentrate on NBCUniversal International Studios’ growing scripted business. He will report directly to Guy Sheppard, the studio's Senior Vice-President of Legal & Business Affairs.
Amazon has granted an early fourth season renewal to Bosch, their original crime drama starring Titus Welliver which is based on the series of novels by Michael Connelly.
The Zombie apocalypse is far from over. AMC has renewed their flagship drama The Walking Dead for an eighth season, the network announced last night during a special two-hour retrospective. 
Delroy Lindo (The Chicago Code, Believe) has been tapped for a series regular role in CBS All Access untitled The Good Wife spin-off, TVWise has learned. Lindo will play Robert Boseman, an attorney who starts poaching Diane Lockhart’s associates and clients when she gets into financial trouble, and threatens her ability to stay in business. He joins Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Sarah Steele and Rose Leslie in the main cast.
