Ahead of a slew of new series orders, NBC is making calls on some of their bubble shows. The network has started down that path by handing out a second season renewal to their Taken prequel series for an expanded second season of sixteen episodes. Fox Cancels ‘Rosewood’ After Two Seasons
It's the end of the road for Rosewood. Fox has cancelled the Morris Chestnut fronted crime drama after two full seasons, TVWise has learned. While it was a decent ratings performer last season, when it was serving as the lead-in for Empire, the show suffered in its new Thursday night time-slot and after the ratings all but collapsed it was shunted to a Friday night "death" slot. USA Network Bringing Back ‘Psych’ For Two-Hour TV Movie
Psych is the latest TV property getting the revival treatment. USA Network has announced that they are bringing back the show for a two-hour TV movie, which will air on the NBCU owned and operated network this coming December. Lead actors James Roday and Dulé Hill are on-board to reprise their roles as Shawn and Gus, respectively. Other returning cast members include Timothy Omundson as Lassiter, Maggie Lawson as Juliet, Corbin Bernsen as Henry and Kirsten Nelson as Chief Vick. The CW Cancels ‘Frequency’ After One Season

Hulu has found their George Tenet. The streaming service has set Alec Baldwin (30 Rock, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as the controversial CIA Director in their upcoming ten episode 9/11 event series The Looming Tower, TVWise has learned. As DCI, Tenet is Richard Clarke's partner in fighting Al-Qaeda, though he may know more than he is letting on. ‘Hap & Leonard’ Picked Up For Third Season
Anthology series Hap & Leonard has been renewed for a third season by U.S. broadcaster SundanceTV, TVWise has learned. Six episodes have been ordered for season three, matching the orders for seasons one and two. Fox Renews ‘The X-Files’ For Ten Episode Eleventh Season
After months of prolonged negotiations, Fox has officially pulled the trigger and renewed The X-Files for an eleventh season. The network has opted for a longer run for this second revival season, ordering ten episodes, up from the six that comprised season ten. TVWise reported late last year that the increased order was a key objective for senior Fox execs, who were eyeing the new season for a spot of the 2017-2018 schedule.
