Amazon Studios has cancelled the series order for 'The After' and will therefore not be moving forward with the Aldis Hodge and Sharon Lawrence fronted post-apocalyptic drama from 'X-Files' creator Chris Carter, 
Syfy has teamed with Relativity Television, the production company behind MTV's Catfish: The TV Show, to develop Hackers, an unscripted series which is set to "take viewers deep inside the shadowy and dangerous world of high-tech hackers for the very first time", TVWise has learned. 
Series regulars Michael O'Neill (The West Wing, Bates Motel) and Hiroyuki Sanada (Helix) are exiting CBS' sci-fi series 'Extant' and will not appear in the show's 13 episode second season, TVWise has confirmed. 
Justin Lin, who is well known for helming the Fast & Furious franchise and is coming off of directing the opening episodes of True Detective season 2, has been tapped to direct Star Trek 3. He replaces Roberto Orci, who stepped down as director of the film earlier this month. 
Mike Colter, who has had a recurring role as drug kingpin Lemond Bishop on CBS' critically acclaimed drama series The Good Wife for the past six seasons, has been tapped to play the iconic role of Luke Cage in both of Netflix's 13 episode Jessica Jones and Luke Cage series, TVWise has learned. 
Syfy has acquired the U.S. broadcast rights to E4's magic series Troy. The network has acquired both seasons of the show, which will air in one run of 10 episodes in January under the title Troy: Street Magic.
