Sophie Rundle, Peter Davison, Gemma Jones & More Join BBC One’s ‘Gentleman Jack’

BBC One and HBO has set the cast for their co-production Gentleman Jack, which is being toplined by Suranne Jones. Joining the cast of the eight episode drama series is Sophie Rundle (Bodyguard), Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), Timothy West (Bleak House), Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones’s Diary), Stephanie Cole (Still Open All Hours), Peter Davison (Doctor Who), Amelia Bullmore (Scott & Bailey), Vincent Franklin (Happy Valley) and Shaun Dooley (Broadchurch).

Fulwell 73 Hires Caroline Roseman As UK Head Of Development

Fulwell 73 has hired Whizz Kid Entertainment exec Caroline Roseman to serve in the newly created position of UK Head of Development. Roseman will work across Fulwell’s entire TV slate and will report to the indie's senior executives Heather Greenwood and Carly Shackleton.

Sky Atlantic Imports ‘Barry’ & ‘Silicon Valley’ Renewed

HBO has renewed their comedy series Barry and Silicon Valley. The Bill Hader fronted Barry will be back for its second season, while tech comedy Silicon Valley will return for season six.

ITV Renews ‘Grantchester’ For Fourth Season, James Norton To Exit

ITV (alongside U.S. co-production partner PBS Masterpiece) has renewed period drama Grantchester for a fourth season. There's no word on the size of the order for the new season. In somewhat unexpected news, one of the co-leads, James Norton, who plays Sidney Chambers, will be exiting Grantchester during the fourth season. Casting is underway for a new Vicar.

Sky One Co-Production ‘Strike Back’ Renewed For Seventh Season

Special forces drama Strike Back - which is a co-production between Sky One and HBO's sister channel Cinemax - has been renewed for another season. This is the seventh season for Sky and the sixth for Cinemax (the latter of whom aired the initial season as a spin-off titled Strike Back: Origins).

Netflix Renews ‘One Day At A Time’ For Third Season

Netflix has renewed their half hour comedy series One Day At A Time - which airs on this side of the pond on Netflix UK - for a third season. The renewal, which comes some two months after the second season premiered, is for another thirteen episodes.

Justin Kirk Joins Showtime’s ‘Kidding’ In Recurring Role

Weeds star Justin Kirk has been tapped for a recurring role in Showtime's half-hour comedy series Kidding, starring Jim Carrey, Catherine Keener, Frank Langella and Judy Greer. Kirk will play Peter, the new boyfriend of Jill (Greer) who is Jeff’s (Carrey) estranged wife.
