Fox is sticking with Zooey Deschanel and co. Ahead of the series' return to the network's prime-time schedule this evening, Fox has renewed single-camera comedy New Girl for a fifth season, TVWise has learned.

The TV adaptation of Cassandra Clare's young adult novel series The Mortal Instruments has found a US network. The project, which is working under the title Shadowhunters, has landed at ABC Family with a 10 episode straight-to-series order. It has been on the marketplace since MIPCOM 2014, when Constantin Film opted to go down the television route after the feature film adaptation 'City Of Bones' failed at the box office.

The BBC's drama boss Ben Stephenson is joining the ranks of Bad Robot Productions. After the better part of two months worth of rumblings and rumours, JJ Abrams' production company has confirmed that they have poached Stephenson to lead their TV division in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for the development and production of all of the company's television projects.

Maisie Wiliams (Game Of Thrones) has landed a guest role on the upcoming ninth season of BBC One's Doctor Who. The exact nature of the her role are being kept under wraps, though the BBC did reveal that the episode in which Williams appears will be a period adventure. It is believe that the episode in question is titled 'The Girl Who Died’. which was written by Jamie Mathieson and Steven Moffat.
