Netflix Greenlights 1980s Supernatural Drama Series ‘Montauk’
Netflix is continuing to build their slate of original drama series. The streaming giant has picked up Montauk, a 1980s set supernatural drama which hails from Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer. Netflix has ordered eight episodes for the show's first season, which is expected to premiere in all territories where the "internet TV network" has presence in 2016.
A fan favourite is (temporarily) returning to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Dann Florek, who played Don Cragen across fifteen seasons of SVU (not to mention three seasons of the original Law & Order), is reportedly returning to the veteran procedural to reprise his role in an upcoming episode of the show's sixteenth season.
History is adding another drama series to their development slate. The A+E Networks owned and operated cabler has put into development The Boys Of '67, an hour-long drama series set during the height of the Vietnam War.
Netflix has picked up Bloodline, their latest drama series from the creative team behind Damages, for a 13 episode second season, set to air in 2016.
Ray Donovan executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker has been set as the executive producer and showrunner on Luke Cage, Netflix's third original Marvel series to come out of a bumper deal between the streaming service, Marvel and Disney.
Showtime has picked up half-hour comedy drama House Of Lies for a ten episode fifth season, the network announced on Tuesday.
The Cold War continues.... FX has renewed Cold War spy drama The Americans, starring Mathhew Rhys, Keri Russel and Noah Emmerich, for a fourth season, the network announced today. The fourth season pick up, which comes with only four episodes left in the show's third season, is for a further 13 episodes.
