Chiller Moves Into Originals With Anthology Series ‘Slasher’
Chiller is the latest network to officially get in on the scripted original series game. Syfy's sister network has picked up anthology entry Slasher from Murdoch Mysteries indie Shaftesbury Films as their first ever original series. Production begins this Summer in Sudbury for a late 2015 premiere. 
Fox's Sleepy Hollow is set lose one of its main cast members. Orlando Jones (House), who has played Captain Frank Irving on Sleepy Hollow since the pilot, is exiting the 20th Century Fox Television produced drama ahead of it's just ordered third season, TVWise has confirmed.
The Simpsons are not going anywhere. Fox has renewed the long-running animated comedy for a further two seasons, the show's twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth. The two-season pick up, which will keep The Simpsons on air through at least the 2016-2017 season, ensures that some 625 episodes will have been produced by the end of season 28.
TNT has released a new trailer for Proof, their ten episode supernatural drama series starring The Chicago Code alum Jennifer Beals.
Syfy has handed out a series order to The Magicians, an hour-long adaptation of the Lev Grossman novel series of the same name from Universal Cable Productions and Aquarius creator John McNamara. The project, which landed a pilot order late last year, has received an order for 12 episodes. 
NBC is kicking things off a little early this year by handing out the first three series orders ahead of the Upfronts in a little over a week. The three projects to get the nod at the peacock are: Blind Spot from Arrow & The Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti; medical drama Heartbreaker; and Chicago Med, the latest entry in Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise, which already includes Chicago Fire and Chicago PD
FX is getting in on the drug trade. The network has handed out a pilot order to Snowfall, a drama from award-winning filmmaker John Singleton which explores the crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles in the early 1980s.
