BBC One has teamed with former Controller of Fiction Jane Tranter to produce a TV series adaptation of Philip Pullman's trilogy of novels His Dark Materials, TVWise has learned. The project has received an order for 8 episodes and will be shot on location in Wales. 
BBC One has renewed critical and ratings hit Doctor Foster, starring Suranne Jones (Scott & Bailey), for a second season, TVWise has learned. 
After nine seasons on air, Morse follow-up Lewis is coming to an end. ITV has announced that the drama series starring Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox will not return for a tenth season. The November 10th season finale will also serve as the series finale. 
EXCLUSIVE: The Beeb has zeroed in on their next literary adaptation. The BBC has put into development The Secret Rooms, an adaptation of the gothic novel of the same name by Catherine Bailey, TVWise has learned exclusively. Sources tell TVWise that the project is in development for BBC Two, though I have yet to hear confirmation on that. Representatives of the BBC did not immediately respond to TVWise's requests for comment. 
The fourth season of CBS' drama series Elementary will receive its UK premiere on Sky Living on Thursday November 19th at 9pm, it has been announced. 
HBO's Vinyl is coming to the UK a little sooner than expected. Sky Atlantic - who hold exclusive rights to Vinyl out of their long-running output deal with HBO - has announced plans to simulcast the two-hour series premiere of the Mick Jagger produced Rock & Roll drama with HBO's East Coast feed at 2AM UK time on Monday February 15th, before repeating the episode later that same day in its regularly scheduled 9pm time-slot.
