BBC One's Ethel & Ernest adaptation will premiere on Wednesday December 28th at 7:30pm, it has been announced. Based on the novel by Raymond Briggs, Ethel & Ernest tells the story of Briggs' own parents, Ethel and Ernest - two ordinary Londoners living through a period of extraordinary events and immense social change. 
Maigret's Dead Man - the second film in the new series of Maigret adaptations - will premiere on ITV on Christmas Day (Sunday December 25th) at 9pm, it has been announced.
