UKTV’s W Channel Renews ‘Inside The Ambulance’ For Three Seasons

UKTV's flagship entertainment channel W has handed out a bumper three season renewal to Inside The Ambulance. The three season pick-up encompasses a second and third season, each consisting of ten episodes; and a special ten episode festive series, Inside The Christmas Ambulance.

History UK Acquires Canadian WWII Spy Thriller ‘X Company’

History UK is adding another exclusive drama to their slate. The A+E Networks UK backed channel has secured the exclusive UK broadcast rights to Canadian drama series X Company, a spy thriller set during the second world war, after striking a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television. 

First Look: ‘Line Of Duty’ Star Martin Compston In ITV’s ‘Victoria’

ITV has released a first look at Line Of Duty star Martin Compston in the second season of their lavish period drama Victoria. Compston, best known for playing Steve Arnott in the BBC police anti-corruption drama, will appear in the sixth episode of the second season as Dr. Robert Traill, a key campaigner in the petition to gain awareness and support for those suffering from the potato famine in Ireland during the 1840s.

Toby Etheridge Exits FOX UK, MD Jeff Ford To Retire

There are big changes afoot at Fox Networks Group UK. Long-time Head of Programming and Scheduling Toby Etheridge, who has been in post since 2010, is exiting the company. He will be replaced Shoshana Wilson, who is currently serving as Director of Global Acquisitions in the regional European Team. Additionally, Jeff Ford, who joined FOX UK as Managing Director in 2015, has announced plans to retire after a career in the industry that has spanned four decades.

ITV2’s ‘Plebs’ Renewed For Fourth Season

ITV2 is returning to ancient Rome. The digi-net has renewed their comedy series Plebs for an eight episode fourth season, which is set to air in Spring 2018. Production on season four gets underway this week.

BBC Two Orders Harry Potter Documentary ‘A History Of Magic’

After working with author J.K.Rowling on adaptations of both The Casual Vacancy and her Strike novels (written under the pseudonym Robert Gailbraith), the BBC is returning to her seminal work: Harry Potter. BBC Two has given the green-light to a one-off documentary to mark the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, which will explore the British Library's exhibition Harry Potter: A History Of Magic.

Amazon Prime Video Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Life In Pieces’ Season 3

EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Prime Video UK has picked up the first run UK rights to the third season of CBS' comedy series Life In Pieces, TVWise can reveal. The series is distributed internationally by Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.
