Sky Atlantic Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Westworld’ Season 2

The second season of Westworld will receive its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday April 23rd at 2am, simulcast with HBO’s east-coast feed. The season premiere will also be repeated later that same day in the show’s regular 9pm time-slot.

Amazon Prime Video Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Preacher’ Season 3

The third season of AMC’s comic book adaptation Preacher will receive its UK premiere on Amazon Prime Video UK on Monday June 25th, it has been announced. New episodes will continue to be made available to Amazon Prime subscribers in the UK every Monday, less than 24 hours after they initially air on AMC in the United States.

eOne Takes Majority Stake In Whizz Kid Entertainment

Entertainment One (eOne) has secured a majority stake in independent production company Whizz Kid Entertainment. The indie's founder and CEO Malcolm Gerrie and Managing Director Lisa Chapman will remain in their current posts, reporting into Tara Long, Executive Vice-President of Alternative Television for eOne. The rest of the senior team also remains in place and will continue to focus on the development of original non-scripted entertainment programming with significant international appeal.

UKTV Hires ITV Studios’ Ronan Hand For Programme Funding Role

UKTV has hired ITV Studios exec Ronan Hand to serve in the newly created role of Director of Programme Funding. The role sits within the company's commercial team and is designed to better enable the broadcaster to realise its ambitions in IP ownership and original commissions. Ronan Hand will report directly to UKTV's Chief Commercial Officer Simon Michaelides.

Channel 5 Inks eOne Deal For UK Rights To ‘The Detail’ & ‘Designated Survivor’

Channel 5 has agreed a deal with Entertainment One (eOne) to secure UK rights to Canadian procedural The Detail and second window rights to ABC's Designated Survivor. This marks the second UK deal for Designated Survivor. Netflix UK previously secured, and retains, first run UK rights to the Kiefer Sutherland fronted thriller as part of a global deal between eOne and the streaming service.

UKTV Co-Production ‘Frankie Drake Mysteries’ Renewed For Season 2

UKTV and CBC have renewed their co-production Frankie Drake Mysteries for a second season. Ten episodes have been ordered for the show's second season, which is expected to air later this year on CBC in Canada and early 2019 on Alibi in the UK, respectively.
