UKTV’s Dave Channel Orders Game Show ‘Beat The Internet With John Robins’ From Vice Studios

UKTV's Dave channel has given the greenlight to Beat The Internet With John Robins, a twenty episode game show fronted by the 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner which hails from Vice Studios. Beat The Internet with John Robins pits members of the public against each other in a quest to predict how search engines respond to a series of questions - from images to wordplay, the results are both unpredictable and hilarious.

Nevision Options M.G. Leonard’s Beetle Trilogy For TV Adaptation

Nevision has optioned the rights to M.G. Leonard's trilogy of Beetle children's books (Beetle Boy, Beetle Queen and Battle Of The Beetles) with plans to adapt them as a live-action TV series. The deal was brokered by Kirsty McLachlan at literary agency DGA, who represent Leonard. The trilogy begins with thirteen-year-old Darkus Cuttle’s search for his kidnapped father, leading him to discover a mountain of extraordinary beetles and pitting him against the mad-scientist of the fashion world Lucretia Cutter, an haute-couture villainess with an alarming interest in insects.

Sky One Releases Trailer For ‘A Discovery Of Witches’

Sky One has released the trailer for their Deborah Harkness adaptation A Discovery Of Witches, starring Matthew Goode (The Good Wife) and Teresa Palmer (Hacksaw Ridge), which is set to premiere later this year.

SYFY UK Acquires NBC’s ‘Reverie’ & Hulu’s ‘Future Man’, Picks Up ‘Killjoys’ Season 4

SYFY UK is bolstering their summer schedule. The NBCU owned and operated genre channel has secured exclusive UK rights to NBC's drama series Reverie and Hulu's sci-fi series Future Man. Additionally, they have picked up UK rights to the fourth season of Killjoys. I hear all three series will premiere in August. Reverie and Killjoys are distributed by NBCUniversal International Distribution, while Sony Pictures Television handles global sales for Future Man. Representatives of SYFY UK did not immediately respond to TVWise's request for comment.

Scorpion Lines Up Sales Across Central & Eastern Europe

UK based international distributor Scorpion TV has lined up sales for more than 100 hours of content with multiple international broadcasters across Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). The deals were brokered by Scorpion TV's Sales Executive for CEE Ben Haines.

BBC One Orders Dan Sefton Drama ‘The Mallorca Files’ For Daytime Schedule

Dan Sefton is proving to be one of the most prolific British TV writers of recent memory. The scribe - who has The Good Karma Hospital at ITVPorters at UKTV's Dave channelTrust Me at BBC One, and Delicious at Sky One - has set a new project with the BBC. The Mallorca Files, about a British and German detective clashing over their very different approaches to policing the island, has been green-lit at the Beeb for BBC One's daytime schedule. The show's ten episode first season will be made available in its entirety on the BBC iPlayer on the same day the first episode premieres on BBC One.

Netflix UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘Ozark’ Season 2

The second season of Ozark will premiere on Netflix UK on Friday August 31st, it has been announced. Ozark follows Marty Bryde and his family as they navigate the murky waters of life within a dangerous drug cartel. The drama series, which was created by Bill Dubuque, is produced by Media Rights Capital and stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Julia Garner and Janet McTeer.
