BBC Two Acquires Australian Police Comedy ‘No Activity’

No Activity is getting a UK broadcast. BBC Two has secured the UK rights to the original Australian police comedy series starring Patrick Brammall and Darren Gilshenan, TVWise has confirmed. The show's first season will premiere on Sunday September 9th at 10:30pm with a double-bill.

BBC Two Orders ‘Nadiya’s Family Favourites’ Festive Special

Nadiya’s Family Favourites is getting a Christmas special (of sorts). BBC Two has commissioned a one-off special, titled Nadiya’s Family Celebration, to air this winter. “Nadiya has established herself as one of the faces of BBC Two and I’m delighted that she’s sharing her party food secrets for this year’s holiday season”, said BBC Two Controller Patrick Holland.

Channel 5 Renews ‘Shop Smart Save Money’ For Two More Seasons

Channel 5 has handed out a two season renewal to their Gaby Roslin and Fiona Phillips shopping series Shop Smart Save Money. A total of sixteen episodes have been commissioned, which will be evenly split over seasons two and three. The bumper renewal comes after the first season, consisting of three episodes, aired on Channel 5 back in June. The show's second season is set to air later this year, while season three will follow in 2019.

StarzPlay Acquires UK Rights To J.K. Simmons Thriller ‘Counterpart’

J.K. Simmons' (The Closer) newest TV drama is coming to the UK. StarzPlay – which is available exclusively in the UK on Amazon Prime via Amazon Channels – has acquired Counterpart from international distributor Sony Pictures Television. The show's first season will be available to stream for StarzPlay subscribers from Friday September 28th. This marks the second major deal between Sony and StarzPlay since the service launch on Amazon Prime Video UK earlier this year. Back in July, the two companies also agreed a deal for AT&T's Audience network's Stephen King adaptation Mr. Mercedes.
