It’s Official: ITV Re-Teams With ‘Downton Abbey’ Creator Julian Fellowes For ‘Belgravia’ Adaptation
After weeks of rumours, ITV has officially confirmed that they are re-teaming with Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes for a six episode adaptation of his novel Belgravia. After eight years in the role, UKTV's Chief Executive Officer Darren Childs is exiting the company. He will officially step down on July 1st. SYFY UK has secured the exclusive UK rights to History's scripted drama Project Blue Book after striking a deal with international distributor A+E Networks. The show's ten episode first season is set to premiere on SYFY UK next month. Project Blue Book follows Dr. J Allen Hynek, a brilliant yet underappreciated college professor, who is recruited by the US Air Force to spearhead a clandestine operation called “Project Blue Book.” Along with his partner, Captain Michael Quinn, Hynek is summoned to investigate UFO sightings around the country and uses science to discover what really happened. Smithsonian Channel is crossing the pond. The factual channel is set to launch in the UK on Tuesday February 12th and will be available in HD on Virgin (Channel 295), Sky (Channel 195) and Freesat (Channel 175). ITV Cancels Comedies ‘Birds Of A Feather’ & ‘Bad Move’
ITV is down to zero comedies on the main channel. Both Birds Of A Feather and the Jack Dee comedy Bad Move have been cancelled by the commercial broadcaster. An ITV spokesperson confirmed there are "currently no plans" for future seasons of either show.
