MTV UK Orders Dating Show ‘Love Squad’

MTV UK has ordered new dating show Love Squad. The series has received an order for thirty episodes. Love Squad tasks groups of friends to take control of a single friend’s love life, in an attempt to try and find them the perfect match. In each episode, an unlucky in love dater will hand over the reins to their friends and family – The Love Squad – to try and find the perfect match in one night.

Channel 4 Renews ‘Friday Night Dinner’ For Sixth Season

Channel 4 has handed out a sixth season renewal to their comedy series Friday Night Dinner. Production on the show's sixth season is set to get underway later this year for a 2020 premiere. With the renewal the series becomes one of Channel 4’s longest running sitcoms. The pick-up comes a little more than a year after the show's fifth season aired. Season five ranks as the show's second highest rated season with an average audience of 1.9 million views and an 11.4% share in its 10pm slot.

Amazon Prime Video UK Acquires ‘Star Trek’ Picard Series

In what is surely a blow to their rival Netflix, Amazon Prime Video UK has secured exclusive rights to the as-yet untitled Star Trek series starring Sir Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard. The acquisition is part of a multi-year deal between Amazon and CBS Studios International that will see the streaming service serve as the series' broadcaster in more than 200 territories. Episodes will be available to stream within 24 hours of their U.S. broadcast.

My5 Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘The Oath’

Sony Crackle's original drama The Oath will receive its UK premiere on Channel 5's VOD service My5 on Friday May 31st, when the complete first season will be available to stream, it has been announced.

Guy Pearce Set As Lead In BBC One’s ‘A Christmas Carol’, FX Boards As US Partner

Guy Pearce (Mary Queen of Scots) has been set as the lead in BBC One's Charles Dickens adaptation A Christmas Carol. The three-part adaptation, which hails from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, was originally commissioned back in 2017 as one of a number of Dickens adaptions from Knight. FX has since boarded as the US partner and will are A Christmas Carol state-side.
