Syfy UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘Stargate Atlantis’
Syfy UK's latest acquisition Stargate Atlantis will premiere on Monday July 1st at 8pm and will then continue to air on weekdays in the same time-slot. In the opening episode of the show's first season, titled Rising - Part 1, a new Stargate team embarks on a dangerous mission to a distant galaxy, where they discover a mythical lost city -- and a deadly new enemy. Robert Patrick (The X-Files) guest stars.

David Costabile (Suits, Billions), Amy Landecker (Transparent, Doctor Strange) and Matt Lauria (Shaft, Kingdom, Traitors) have joined the cast of Sky Atlantic's 1950s period drama Little Birds.
Thalissa Teixeira (The Musketeers, Press), Ariane Labed (The Lobster, Attenberg) and Gary Carr (The Deuce, The Good Fight) have been set as the leads in Trigonometry, BBC Two's eight episode drama series from Duncan Macmillan and Effie Woods.
After piloting the project as part of their Comedy Playhouse strand this past December, BBC One has picked up King Gary to series with a six episode order. Production on the first season gets underway this weekend ahead of a 2020 premiere.
Stargate Atlantis is returning to UK TV screens. Syfy UK has acquired the second TV series in the Stargate franchise, which originally aired for five seasons on Syfy state-side between 2004 and 2009. MGM Worldwide Television Distribution handles international distribution. Stargate Atlantis is planned as a key-part of Syfy UK's summer schedule alongside the second season of Stargate co-creator Dean Devlin's fantasy series The Outpost, and the final season of Syfy's bounty hunter space drama Killjoys.
After teaming together on both Chernobyl and the upcoming Catherine The Great, Sky and HBO are re-teaming to co-produce another six episode limited series, The Third Day. The Young Pope and Fantastic Beasts star Jude Law is attached the star. Production begins next month ahead of a 2020 premiere on Sky Atlantic and HBO.
