Silverprint Pictures Options TV Rights To Ann Cleeves’ ‘The Long Call’

Silverprint Pictures is staying in the Ann Cleeves business. After producing two previous adaptations of the author's novels in the form of BBC drama Shetland and ITV's long-running Vera, the indie has optioned TV rights to The Long Call - the opening novel in a new series by Ann Cleeves. “I’m delighted that the team at Silverprint has optioned The Long Call", author Ann Cleeves said in a statement. "The adaptations of Vera and Shetland have captured the essence of my books, while making TV dramas that are hugely successful in their own right.”

Apple TV+ Releases Trailer For ‘Dickinson’

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for their upcoming period comedy Dickinson, which is set to premiere later this year. Dickinson is set in the nineteenth century and takes viewers into the world of Emily Dickinson, audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family through the perspective of a budding writer who doesn't fit in to her own time through her imaginative point of view. "Dickinson" is Emily's coming-of-age story - one woman's fight to get her voice heard.

Netflix UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’

The Breaking Bad follow-up movie El Camino will premiere on Netflix UK on Friday October 11th, it has been announced. El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie picks up in the wake of the events depicted in the Breaking Bad series finale. Following his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future. The movie was penned and directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and produced by Sony Pictures Television. The producers are Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Charles Newirth, Diane Mercer and Aaron Paul. No word on whether or not Bryan Cranston will appear in the movie.

Amazon Prime Video UK Sets Premiere Date For ‘Goliath’ Season 3

The third season of Goliath will premiere on Amazon Prime Video UK on Friday October 4th, it has been announced. In the show's third season, Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton) returns after the unexpected death of an old friend leads him to take a case in the drought-stricken Central Valley, where he comes into conflict with a billionaire rancher (Dennis Quaid, The Day After Tomorrow) and his sister (Amy Brenneman, Heat). Season three guest stars include Beau Bridges, Griffin Dunne, Sherilyn Fenn, Shamier Anderson, Julia Jones, Leslie Grossman, Graham Greene and Illeana Douglas.

ITV Orders Comedy Series ‘Kate And Kolo’ Starring Brenda Blethyn & Jimmy Akingbola

Despite recent comments from Kevin Lygo, ITV is giving scripted comedy on the main channel yet another shot. The broadcaster has ordered Kate And Kolo, a six episode studio sitcom starring Brenda Blethyn (Vera) and Jimmy Akingbola (In The Long Run). Kate And Kolo follows Kate (Brenda Blethyn), a working-class woman who runs an old-fashioned café in a neglected seaside town and who develops a strong, if sometimes volatile, friendship with Kolo (Jimmy Akingbola), an asylum-seeking African doctor.

BBC Three Acquires Norwegian Drama ‘Nudes’ In Deal With Wild Bunch TV

In what is their first foreign language drama acquisition, BBC Three has picked up the UK rights to Norwegian drama Nudes after striking a deal with international distributor Wild Bunch TV. Nudes is an anthology series about three different teenagers who, each in his or her own way is plunged deep into a life crisis due to leaked nudes and are forced to handle the situation to regain control of their own lives.
