First Look: Ardal O’Hanlon’s Replacement For ‘Death In Paradise’ Season 9

The BBC and Red Planet Pictures have released an image teasing the new lead actor who will replace Ardal O'Hanlon as the new Detective Inspector on Death In Paradise. As TVWise reported last week, O'Hanlon is poised to exit the Caribbean set crime drama and will make his final appearance as Detective Inspector Jack Mooney during the show's ninth season, which is set to premiere in early 2020.

UKTV’s Dave Channel Orders ‘Red Dwarf’ Feature-Length Special

Red Dwarf is returning to Dave. The UKTV channel has commissioned a feature-length special of the hit sci-fi comedy series to air in 2020. The special, which is set up at Baby Cow Productions, is being penned and directed by series co-creator Doug Naylor. Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn are all on-board to reprise their roles as Lister, Rimmer, The Cat and Kryten. Richard Naylor is the producer. It will be filmed on location and at Pinewood in front of a live studio audience. Christine Langan is the executive producer.

‘The Witchfinder’ Gets Series Order At BBC Two, Tim Key & Daisy May Cooper To Star

BBC Two has handed out a six episode series order to The Witchfinder, a comedy series about a witchfinder and his suspect on a road-free road trip through an England gripped by civil war, famine and plague. Tim Key (Brassic) and Daisy May Cooper (This Country) are attached to star.

The second season of Pose will receive its UK premiere on BBC Two on Saturday October 26th at 10:20pm with a double-bill, it has been announced. The complete second season will also be available on the iPlayer following the linear premiere.

E4 Acquires UK Rights To ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’

E4 has acquired the exclusive UK rights to NBC's musical dramedy series Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist after striking a deal with international distributor Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group. The acquisition comes mere hours after E4 announced a deal with CBS Studios International for CBS' Matt LeBlanc comedy Man With A Plan and linear rights to Star Trek: Discovery. It also marks only the second new series from the 2019-2019 broadcast season in the United States to land a UK deal, after Sky previously picked up NBC comedy Sunnyside for their soon-to-launch dedicated comedy channel.
