UKTV Sees Surge Amongst Younger Viewers, High Demand For Classic Shows Including ‘The Bill’ & ‘Red Dwarf’

UKTV has recorded a surge in viewership from younger people during the lockdown. The network has seen a 55% increase in the 16-34 demo when compared to the pre-lockdown period. Interestingly, these viewers have been consuming classic TV titles such as The Bill, Only Fools & Horses, Gavin & Stacey and The Vicar Of Dibley. UKTV originals Red Dwarf: The Promised Land, Hypothetical and Meet The Richardsons also proved to be popular. 

NENT Studios UK Takes International Rights To ‘The Dead Lands’

NENT Studios UK (formerly known as DRG) has acquired international distribution rights to fantasy series The Dead Lands. NENT picked up the rights in a deal with GFC Films, who recently clawed them back following the collapse of Kew Media Distribution.

More4 Acquires CBC’s ‘Coroner’ In Deal With Cineflix Rights

Channel 4 has closed a deal with Cineflix Rights to acquire the first two seasons of CBC's drama series Coroner for their digi-net More4. This marks the second UK deal for the show. Universal TV originally acquired the series back in 2018, but after that channel was shuttered earlier this year the fate of Coroner on this side of the pond remained something of an open question.
