Alan Ball’s HBO Project ‘Virtuoso’ Lands Pilot Order, Elton John To Produce

HBO has handed a pilot order to Alan Ball's musical drama project Virtuoso, which has Ball's partner Peter Macdissi attached to star and counts Elton John amongst its many executive producers.

Netflix UK Releases Key Art, Sets Launch Date For ‘Better Call Saul’

Netflix UK & Ireland has firmed up the launch plans for the Bob Odenkirk fronted Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul. The first episode will be available to subscribers on Monday February 9th, the second episode will then follow on Tuesday February 10th, with subsequent episodes made available every Tuesday at 7am.

Shondaland Drama ‘The Catch’, Dan Savage Comedy, ‘Broad Squad’ & ‘Chev & Bev’ Score ABC Pilot Orders

ABC is adding to their pilot pickups with two dramas and two comedies. All from the network's sister studio ABC Studios, the four projects that scored pilot pickups on Monday night were: The Catch, an hour-long drama from Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder producers Shondaland; an untitled comedy from LGBT activist Dan Savage; hour-long drama Broad Squad, from The OC's Josh Schwartz; and the Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo fronted comedy Chev & Bev.

NBC is re-teaming with top talk show host Ellen DeGeneres for a new comedy series. The network has handed out a pilot order to an untitled comedy from the Ellen host, which has Boston Legal alum Monica Potter attached to star.

CBS has picked up pilots 'Rush Hour', based on the feature film franchise of the same name which starred Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker; comedy 'Super Clyde', a new take on the Greg Garcia project which was piloted two seasons ago, but never went to series; and multi-camera comedy 'Joe Time' from Modern Family's Bill Wrubel.
