NBC is continuing to build the cast of Chicago Med. Colin Donnell (Arrow) has joined the cast of the Chicago Fire spin-off as a series regular for its just picked up first season - which at present has an order for 13 episodes and is set to debut at midseason. 
Numb3rs star Rob Morrow has joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's new 10 episode FX series American Crime Story, which focuses on a new “true crime” case each season. Production on the series is presently underway in Los Angeles for an early 2016 premiere. 
In a surprising development, 24 and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine alum Penny Johnson Jerald is exiting ABC's hit procedural Castle ahead of its eighth season. She has been with the show since 2011, playing Detective Beckett's (Stana Katic) commanding officer Captain Victoria Gates. 
Rake star Greg Kinnear has joined the cast of HBO's TV movie Confirmation, which is set during the height of the Clarence Thomas scandal in the early 199os. Kinnear will play Joe Biden, the then chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who were scrutinising Thomas' nomination for the United States Supreme Court. 
The BBC has released the first trailer for US drama Odyssey (AKA American Odyssey), which they acquired in a deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution earlier this year. The series, starring Anna Friel, is expected to premiere on BBC Two next month. 
Alphas alum John Pyper-Ferguson has been tapped for a "major recurring role" on the upcoming fifth season of USA Network's legal dramedy Suits, TVWise has confirmed. 
Being Human alum Jon Cor has landed a recurring role on Shadowhunters, ABC Family's 10 episode drama series which is based on the Mortal Instruments novel series. He will play Hodge Starkweather, the weapons trainer at the Shadowhunters New York Institute and a former Circle member.
