Netflix Orders Comedy Series ‘Lady Dynamite’ From Maria Bamford & Mitch Hurwitz
Netflix is turning to Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz and comedian Mari Bamford for their next comedy entry. The streaming service has given the green-light to Lady Dynamite, a half-hour comedy from the duo which will also star Maria Bamford. 
Russell Tovey (Banished), Alistair Petrie (Utopia) and Douglas Hodge (The Town) have joined the cast of the John le Carré adaptation The Night Manager, which is a co-production between BBC One and AMC. The series is set to bow on both sides of the Atlantic in 2016.
Viacom International Media Networks UK is handing Comedy Central UK boss Jill Offman an expanded role. The exec, who is currently MD of the comedy channel, has been named Managing Director of both Comedy Central UK and MTV UK. 
Atlantis star Aiysha Hart has joined the cast of BBC Two's Line Of Duty in a guest starring role as Detective Sergeant Sam Railstone; while The Americans star Annet Mahendru has joined the cast of Fox's six episode X-Files Revival. Mahendru will play Sveta, a victim of alien abduction.
NBC's drama series Odyssey (AKA American Odyssey) will receive its UK premiere on BBC Two on Sunday June 28th at 9:15pm with a double-bill, it has been announced.
