‘Broke’ Adaptation Gets Straight-To-Series Order At AMC
AMC has handed out a 10 episode straight-to-series order to Broke, a U.S. adaptation of Danish series Bankerot which hails from Dexter scribe Clyde Phillips and is set up at AMC Studios and Lionsgate Television. Production is expected to commence later this year for a 2016 premiere. 
Jon Cassar is heading to Wicked City. The veteran TV director has joined ABC's Los Angeles set 1980s period drama as director and executive producer, TVWise has learned.
ABC Family has green-lit production on Guilt, a pilot for an hour-long drama series which is similar in tone to the real life Amanda Knox case and tells the story of an American teenager who becomes the prime suspect in her roommates violent murder.
Channel 4 Distribution has racked up sales for a number of their programmes with multi-channel broadcaster UKTV and the Discovery owned Quest. UKTV has licensed numerous seasons of River Cottage and several Jamie Oliver fronted series. Meanwhile, Quest has acquired Scrapheap Challenges: The Scrappy Races and the first seven seasons of Scrapheap Challenge.
NBC has handed out an early renewal to their David Duchovny fronted 60s period drama Aquarius. The network has ordered a further 13 episodes for the show's second season, which is expected to enter production toward the end of the year for a Summer 2016 premiere. 
Netflix's newest drama series Narcos, starring Game Of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal, will debut globally on Friday August 28th, the streaming giant announced today.
Syfy UK is bolstering their Summer line-up with a slate of Star Trek feature films. The NBCU backed channel has unveiled plans to air the first six Star Trek films, featuring the cast of the original series including William Shatner and the late Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley, from early July.
