E4 Acquires UK Rights To Ryan Murphy’s Fox Series ‘Scream Queens’

Scream Queens is coming to the UK. E4 has acquired the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the horror-comedy anthology series from American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy after striking a deal with international distributor Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, TVWise has learned. Scream Queens will premiere on E4 this Autumn.

At an event hosted by BBC Director-General Tony Hall and BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore last night, the BBC unveiled a raft of new commissions for their flagship channel including a three-part adaptation of the Mark Billingham novel Rush Of Blood, a live Mrs Brown's Boys special, "visceral" multi-part drama series Troy - Fall Of A City, a one-off To Sir With Love adaptation, and a new Peter Moffat series titled The Last Post.

John Hannah (Atlantis), Maxine Peake (Silk), Matt Lucas (Little Britain), Eleanor Matsuura (Spooks) and Hiran Abeysekera (Lion In The Tent) have signed on for starring role in BBC One's new take on the William Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream, which hails from BBC Cymru Wales and Doctor Who scribe Russell T. Davies.

Netflix Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 5, Sets September Premiere

After acquiring and streaming the show's third and fourth seasons, Netflix UK has extended their deal with Disney Media Distribution and picked up the exclusive UK rights to the fifth season of ABC's drama series Once Upon A Time. Season 5 will premiere on Netflix on Wednesday September 30th, with new episodes being made available every Wednesday, mere days after they air on ABC in the United States.

NBC has found the new Sergeant for SVU. Andy Karl (Forever) has boarded the seventeenth season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Sergeant Mike Dodds, the second in command at the Manhattan SVU. He is the son of NYPD Deputy Chief William Dodds (Peter Gallagher).

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is losing its showrunner. Franchise veteran Warren Leight, who also served as showrunner on Law & Order spin-off Criminal Intent, will step down from his duties as SVU showrunner at the end of its upcoming seventeenth season, He took over as showrunner in 2011 and is widely credited for "creatively rebooting" Special Victims Unit for its thirteenth season.
