CBS Picks Up ‘American Gothic’ Murder-Mystery Series From Steven Spielberg

American GothicFresh off of cancelling Extant, CBS has given the greenlight to American Gothic, a 13 episode murder mystery drama from super-producer Steven Spielberg, his production company Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios. The series will debut in Summer 2016.

NBC’s ‘Blindspot’ Gets Full Season Order

NBC has handed out the first back nine pick up of the season, granting a full season order to breakout hit Blindspot, starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander, TVWise has learned. All told, the network has now ordered 22 episode for the show's first season.

CBS’ ‘Extant’ Cancelled After Two Seasons, Halle Berry To Produce Legal Drama

Extant has run its course. In what is being hailed as a mutual decision between star Halle Berry, the producers and CBS, the network has cancelled the sci-fi drama after two seasons. CBS will be staying in business with series lead Berry however, as they've signed a development deal with the actress, which will see her serve as an executive producer on a new legal drama that is now in the works.

Family Comedy Series Starring Kevin James Lands At CBS

The network has handed out a 13 episode series production commitment to an as-yet untitled family comedy series starring the internationally recognisably comedian. The project brings Kevin James back to the CBS fold after he starred in King Of Queens from 1998 to 2007.

PBS America Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Time Team America’ Season 2

Time Team America is returning to the UK. PBS America has picked up the UK broadcast right to the four episode second season of the U.S. series based on Channel 4's hit archaeological format fronted by Tony Robinson. The second season of Time Team America will receive its UK premiere on PBS America on Tuesday November 10th at 6:35pm and will continue to air daily in the same time-slot.

Fox’s ‘Rosewood’ Gets Order For Three Additional Scripts

RosewoodFox has ordered three additional scripts for Wednesday night procedural Rosewood, which has turned out to be a surprise hit for the network. Despite receiving only a fraction of the marketing budget and ad buy that went to "more marketable" shows like the certain-to-be-cancelled Minority Report, Rosewood has been pulling in strong ratings in its time-slot, thanks in large part to ins lead-in, ratings juggernaut Empire.
