The BBC has confirmed that the 90 minute Sherlock special will air on BBC One in a prime-time slot on New Year's Day (Friday January 1st) and released a new extended trailer. In addition, in a first, the special will air on PBS in the United States on the same day. 
Fresh off of handing out a full-season order to breakout hit Limitless, CBS has ordered six additional scripts for their new medical drama series Code Black starring Marcia Gay Harden (The Newsroom), TVWise has learned. 
Amazon Prime Instant Video UK has secured the first run UK broadcast rights to AMC's upcoming martial arts drama Into The Badlands after striking a deal with international distributor Entertainment One (eOne), TVWise has learned. 
ITV is moving forward with The Sound Of Music. The commercial broadcaster has given the official greenlight to a two and a half hour live production based on the original stage musical featuring an all-star cast that includes, amongst others, Kara Tointon (Mr Selfridge) and Julian Ovenden (Smash). The Sound Of Music Live! will air on ITV this Christmas. 
Showtime has today released the first teaser trailer and a 70s style posted for the sixth season of their critically acclaimed drama series Shameless, which will now premiere on Sunday January 10th at 9/8c.
