BBC One Orders ‘His Dark Materials’ TV Series From Jane Tranter’s Bad Wolf

BBC OneBBC One has teamed with former Controller of Fiction Jane Tranter to produce a TV series adaptation of Philip Pullman's trilogy of novels His Dark Materials, TVWise has learned. The project has received an order for 8 episodes and will be shot on location in Wales.

NBC Eyes ‘Collision’ Adaptation From Anthony Horowitz & Eleventh Hour Films

NBC is developing Collision, an adaptation of the hit 2009 ITV drama of the same from Foyle's War creator Anthony Horowitz and indie Eleventh Hour Films, TVWise has learned. The project presently has a script commitment, with plans to bypass the pilot stage and go straight-to-series with a ten episode order.

ITV’s ‘Lewis’ To End Run After Nine Seasons

Lewis S9After nine seasons on air, Morse follow-up Lewis is coming to an end. ITV has announced that the drama series starring Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox will not return for a tenth season. The November 10th season finale will also serve as the series finale.

Syfy Acquires Female ‘Van Helsing’ Series For 2016 Schedule

Syfy is continuing to bulk up on drama for their 2016 line-up. The NBCU backed cable channel has inked a deal with Fallout Asylum and Dynamic Television to acquire the exclusive U.S. television rights to Van Helsing, the 13 episode drama series from Canadian indie Nomadic Pictures, who alongside eOne, are also behind AMC's Hell On Wheels.
