JJ Abrams' Bad Robot Productions banner and Warner Bros. Television are teaming up with Tavis Smiley to develop a TV event series based on Smiley’s upcoming book Before You Judge Me: The Triumph and Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Last Days, TVWise has learned. 
HBO has released a trailer for their upcoming feature-length Looking movie, which is set to premiere on Saturday July 23rd at 10/9c. 
Freeform is adding to their executive ranks. Jana Steele Helman has joined the Disney owned cable network as Vice-President of Programming and Development, TVWise has learned. In that role, Helman will be responsible for directing the development of scripted drama and comedy series. She will help identify and grow the unique, compelling and brand-appropriate ideas for scripted content. 
BBC One has released the first trailer for The Living And The Dead, starring Colin Morgan (Merlin, The Fall) & Charlotte Spencer (Glue, Line Of Duty). The six-part supernatural drama series is set to premiere on BBC iPlayer on Friday June 17th, before launching on BBC One in a weekly slot from Tuesday June 28th at 9pm. 
The fourth season of ABC's summer drama Mistresses will receive its UK premiere on TLC UK on Wednesday July 13th at 10pm, it has been announced. 
Netflix UK has acquired the first window UK broadcast rights to the upcoming seventh season of Freeform's flagship drama series Pretty Little Liars from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, TVWise has learned. The season seven premiere will be available to stream on Netflix UK from Wednesday June 22nd. 
The fourth season of Lifetime's original series Devious Maids will receive its UK premiere on TLC UK on Thursday July 21st at 10pm, it has been announced. 
It's the end of the road for Penny Dreadful. The gothic thriller from John Logan will not be returning for a fourth season, TVWise has confirmed. The third season finale, which aired last night on Showtime in the US and will premiere on Sky Atlantic in the UK on Tuesday June 21st, will now serve as the series finale.
